We know, only too well, what it feels like to have your life turned up side down from Cancer.

Our Story

Formed in 2010 by a group of Douglas Shire women, Pink in the Tropics Incorporated has become an uplifting and positive community group for those facing the challenge of Breast Cancer. A community based charity and support group in the Port Douglas, Mossman, Julatten to Daintree regions, Pink in the Tropics currently has a following of over 30+ men and women who enjoy monthly gatherings over coffee and wine, and together host a number of Fundraising activities throughout the year.

Our Impact

Outside of supporting our sisters, brothers and families dealing with Breast Cancer, we are committed to giving back to the wider community. The Port Douglas Shire community and local businesses are extremely generous to Pink in the Tropics, which allows us to assist with other charitable causes. We have made donations to the Mossman Multi Purpose Health Service in support of the ‘Stitching for Scrubs’ project which provides staff hospital scrubs for use in COVID Testing and infectious disease control.

Pink in the Tropics also has a close relationship with the Cairns McGrath Nurses, who are invaluable to our Pink Ladies. If you would like to get in contact with a nurse for any medical advice please reach out with this link

Our Mission

We believe in a world that is breast cancer free – and work hard to raise funds for research and to support those who are fighting the disease.

We empower! Ensuring no one feels alone or helpless during their Breast Cancer Journey.

We are passionate about creating positive, supportive, friendly and impactful relationships with each other.

Pink Care Program

The Package

The Pink Care Program is an initiative offered to people diagnosed with breast cancer. It aims to assist those feeling vulnerable or overwhelmed while receiving their treatment by making the journey smoother and less stressful. The Care Pack includes a number of helpful items, an option of services, and includes John Boyages very informative book titled Breast Cancer – Taking Control.

This care program relies on our continued fund-raising and the good will of our community, which is why we have strict guidelines in place. Anonymity for all recipients remains our top priority and morally, we are accountable for the way in which we use this public money.
