Pink in the Tropics: You do not have to join or be a member of Pink in the Tropics to take advantage of this support group. You do, however, have to have been diagnosed with breast cancer at some time in your life and live in the Douglas Shire.

Patient Travel/Accommodation Subsidy Scheme (PTSS): Your or your carer/driver are entitled to a mileage allowance when travelling from the Douglas Shire to Cairns for any specialist or oncology appointments. When diagnosed speak with your GP about a referral form for PTSS

Look Good Feel Better. Workshops are run by professional beauticians who give their time freely to help you with make-up application and advice on your skin changes during or after chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Products are donated by leading cosmetic companies and are yours to take home. Also attending the workshop is a professional wig, scarf & hat person to look after you for the hair loss aspect. You're sure to look good and feel better after attending one of these free 2 hour workshops.
